Intex dedicates Vision mobile phone to visually impaired

There’s a diminutive segment of manufacturers who thinks beyond producing high-end mobile devices for performance seekers and follows a ‘less-traveled road’ of dedicating useful solutions to unique people. After iBall’s Senior targeted at elderly citizens, Intex recently joined forces with National Association for the Blind to announce their new ‘Vision’ mobile phone for visually impaired.

Designed to simplify the entire interaction, the new dual SIM (GSM + GSM) model features a large Braile keypad to help users recognize digitals conveniently. Users who aren’t familiar with the stated keypad can seamlessly switch on the ‘Talking Keypad’ feature which speaks out in English the number they have pressed.

“Intex believes that simple and affordable technology can do wonders in enhancing quality of life of differently-abled people. India has the largest number of blind people in the world and NAB is the best platform in the country to reach to them. Intex Vision is just a small gesture to help empower the visually impaired population by bringing connectivity within easy reach,” shared Shailendra Jha, DGM-Telecom, Intex Technologies.

The distinctively outlined Vision phone considers communication needs during emergency and therefore integrates a useful SOS feature that enables users to save four emergency numbers. By pressing the SOS button, users will automatically get directed to the first emergency number. Incorporated with sturdy ‘no-frills’ design, the device also sports a simple user interface accompanied by several entertainment and utility characteristics.
